NGC 1300, one of galaxies of the Eridanus, the River, is a planetary nebula which is located 85 million light years from the Earth. Nevertheless the distance from astronomy to watchmaking can be measured in millimeters… Owing to the most advanced technology the unusual shape of this spiral galaxy was replicated at a silicon plate which serves as a decoration to the new Quantieme Perpetuel by DeWitt.

This watch was given the name of Nebula, or star cloud, and fully reflected the philosophy of the DeWitt company. It is notable for the unique aesthetic design which combined poetry and the Art of Haute Horlogerie, original interpretation of calendar indicators and also the combination of special materials. Heavenly and earthly elements united and gave the Quantieme Perpetuel Nebula an ability to reign the time, express its transience with extreme elegance.
Form and Content
As well as in others watches made by DeWitt, form and content of Quantieme Perpetuel Nebula were born in the result of the most thorough research. Equipped with calibre DW7021 with automatic winding it measures the time indicating the day and date, month and Moon phase. This refined watch is also equipped with a GMT indicator with a red hand.
Being a masterpiece of technique and miniaturization, Quantieme Perpetuel Nebula remembers the number of days in different months (31, 30 and 28 days). In addition the watch identifies leap years with their 29th of February.
Mind the Time
If your eyes travel clockwise from the 3 o’clock marker to the 9 o’clock marker between which day indicator is situated, to the 24-hours’ counter combined with the GMT hand-indicator, then to leap year and month indicators and date indicator combined with the calendar counter, this circular trajectory will finish in the sky at the upper part of the watch: the infinity of the heavens is symbolized by the silicon plate at which nebula NGC 1300 is depicted and which matches the day-and-night disk rotating at the sky of stars.
Like many other timepieces by DeWitt this fantastic composition is full of mystery and secrets. True to its innovative unusual philosophy DeWitt boldly combines very different materials. The case of Nebula harmoniously combines different types of gold, titanium and high-tech ceramics, and the border with 12 inlays makes the watch absolutely unique.
Silicon, mother-of-pearl and “Goldfluss”
At the upper part of two-level dial silicon is used to image Nebula NGC 1300, mother-of-pearl symbolizes the Moon and the sky is made of Goldfluss. This is a synthetic fiber with addition of copper which is produced with the help of special roasting in compliance with an ancient technology invented in 17th century in Venice and initiate the production of Murano glass.
