The watchmaker Blu famous for its original high quality watches has recently replenished its collection with new models among which are luxurious and complicated Open Planet and Galaxy timepieces. Inspired by the sky of stars the new watches are as beautiful and mysterious.
The Open Planet watch perfectly illustrates how the company’s emphasis on both design and engineering leads to an elegant fusion of the two. The watch features a bold 44-mm white gold or stainless steel case which reveals carbon-fiber or meteorite dial with a large opening to admire the complex cycloid curve of the timekeeping wheel train. The Open Planet watch is notable for the fact that its dial turns once in 12 hours to indicate the hours, while the minute hand indicates the minutes in a relatively traditional way, with 12 o’clock always up. Both front and back cases are equipped with sapphire crystal. Water resistance is 30 meters.
The Open Planet watch houses a Calibre BL701 automatic movement providing 42 hours of power reserve. Balance frequency is 28,800 bph. The movement features cycloid curve gearing and 33 jewels.

The first Galaxy watch was presented by Blu in 2000. Now the company presents a new model to this line sparkling with precious stones. With its concentrically rotating aventurine dials sparkling around insert diamonds, the Galaxy manages to be both discreet and flamboyant depending on the wearer’s mood.
The new Galaxy timepiece is notable for three concentrically rotating disks which revolve at different speeds to indicate time by the position of the inset diamonds. Hours are indicated on the middle disk inset with two diamonds, minutes are shown on the outside disk inset with three diamonds and one diamond in the center indicates the seconds.
The Blu Galaxy watch accommodates a Calibre BL706 automatic movement with 21 jewels. The power reserve is 42 hours. Balance frequency is 28,800 bph. The movement is housed by a white or red gold or stainless steel case with or without diamonds. The dial and the back case are protected with sapphire crystal. The case measures 36 mm x 11.6 mm or 39 mm x 11.6 mm or 42 mm x 11.6 mm. The watch is 30 meters water resistant.
