From June 16 to July 4 all visitor of the website www.WatchUsFindACure.com can participate in the charity action and buy a timepiece by the renowned brand Baume & Mercier.
The organizers of the charity action claimed that 50% of all proceeds gained after sale of the watches by Baume & Mercier will be spent to support the website TalkAboutIt.org created by the Epilepsy Foundation that helps people with this disease and tries to spread the knowledge about it.
The visitors of the website willing to participate in the charity action can choose a male or a female timepiece from the Baume & Mericier catalog presented on the website and showing watches from Riviera, Ilea and Hampton collections.

Andy Garcia Joins Baume & Mercier Family of Ambassadors

The famous Hollywood actor Andy Garcia has been announced a new ambassador of the renowned and reputable watchmaking brand Baume & Mercier.
The famous actor joined the family of the brand’s ambassadors that already includes such celebrities as Teri Hatcher, Ashton Kutcher and Kim Basinger.
The first advertising campaign featuring Andy Garcia is dedicated to the Baume & Mercier Classima Exclusives XL collection of timepieces.
Moreover Andy Garcia will become the 2010 ambassador for Baume & Mercier’s charity initiative. The Baume & Mercier & Me campaign, launched in 2005, features Garcia modeling a piece from its range, and pledges to donate all royalties that would usually go to the celebrity face and campaign photographer to the charities of their choice. Garcia and the ad’s photographer Greg Gorman have requested that their fees be donated to organizations working in the fields of cancer research, child education, helping underprivileged women and the fight against poverty.

Baume & Mercier Classima Executives XL Chronograph Calendar

The new male chronograph Classima Executives XL Chronograph Calendar by Baume & Mercier has replenished the classicak collection of the brand.
The new Baume & Mercier watch is powered by a Swiss ETA movement calibre Valjoux 7751. Among the complications there are chronograph and complete calendar with the moon phase indication. The rotor of the movement is decorated with the Cotes de Geneve pattern while the screws are crafted from blued steel. The case back of the new timepiece is equipped with a see-through aperture protected with sapphire crystal.
The new Baume & Mercier watch is housed by a 42-mm polished steel case. The silvery dial is guilloched in Grain d’orge style. One of the eye-catching elements of the dial is the date hand made of 18K rose gold.
The elegant chronograph will certainly be appreciated by lovers of classics especially if take into account all the useful functions of the new chronograph.
The timepiece is notable for the complete calendar shown at the dial. Some specialists believe that complete calendar is more useful that the prestigious perpetual calendar. But as five months of the year consist of 30 days the owner of the watch will have to manually correct the date (the date indices are placed at the outer edge of the dial).
At 6 o’clock there is the moon phase indicator while at 12 o’clock there is the 30-seconds chronograph counter. At the same place there is the day and month aperture. 9 o’clock shows the 24-hours counter. The dial is protected with sapphire crystal. Water resistance is 30 meters.
The new Baume & Mercier watch is accompanied with a black alligator leather strap.

The organizer of the SIHH 2010 in Geneva has recently announced two new participants of the salon. This year reputable watchmakers Greubel Forsey and Richard Mille are joining the international salon of Haute Horlogerie.
The SIHH 2010 will take place on January 18-22, 2010, in Geneva. The visitors will enjoy the watchmaking masterpieces from the most reputable and prestigious watchmaking brands as A.Lange & Söhne, Alfred Dunhill, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, JeanRichard, Girard Perregaux, IWC, Jaeger LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Piaget, Ralph Lauren Watch & Jewellery Co, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels.
In 2010 the 20th salon will occupy 30,000 square meters of exhibition space. We’ll remind you that the first salon was held in 1991: then there were only 5 participants which presented their watches on 4500 square meters of exhibition space.

Baume & Mercier: New CEO

The watchmaking company Baume & Mercier announces staff transfer in administration. Mr. Michel Nieto has left his position of CEO Baume & Mercier. The representatives of the company say that reason for that is strategic disagreement with the owner of the brand – the luxury group Compagnie Financière Richemont SA.
Mr. Allen Zimmermann has been appointed new CEO Baume & Mercier. Before that appointment Mr. Zimmermann worked as head of marketing department of IWC. He also was engaged in marketing of the Julius Bär bank and worked in Cartier.
