Azimuth SP-1 Spaceship
March 4, 2010
During the forthcoming BaselWorld Watch and Jewellery Show 2010 the watchmaking company Azimuth will unveil its new horological creation – the new version of the timepiece from the legendary space collection SP-1 Mecanique. It has a unique, sleek design: it recreates the night sky, complete with a globe that rotates once every 60 seconds. Its minute hand is shaped like a space shuttle and has a rotating disc showing the hour positioned at the base of the watch.

Inside the new Azimuth watch there is a self-winding movement ETA/UNITAS calibre 6497/8 with 17 jewels. The movement is finely decorated with the Cotes de Geneve pattern. The movement animates the functions of hours, minutes and seconds as well as the “jumping hour” system.
The new Azimuth timepiece features a stainless steel case measuring 45 mm in diameter equipped with sapphire crystal. Water resistance is 30 meters. The face of the watch is a dark blue dial imitating the sky of stars and boasting indices coated with Superluminova treatment.
The watch is secured on the wrist with a black rubber strap with double butterfly clasp made of steel.

Azimuth SP-1 Roulette
April 17, 2009
At last the watchmaking brand Azimuth has found a very successful idea for creation of a “non-serious” timepiece. Actually the idea is not very new but embodied by the new SP-1 Roulette watch looks really great. The 3-D dial of the new timepiece imitates the roulette wheel and the winding crown is designed to look like a die. Together with the time correction function the crown launches a little ball on one of the hands which makes several turns and stops at a random cell.

The new Azimuth SP-1 Roulette is housed by a steel case measuring 35 mm X 55 mm and featuring ergonomic design and owing to the curved back case fits the wrist perfectly. The sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial as well as an aperture at the back case. The latter allows watching balance hub and the inscription “BEAT THE CASINO!”. The watch is 50 meters water resistant.
The new Azimuth watch is equipped with an automatic ETA 2842 modified and decorated.
The collection of new SP-1 Roulette watches is limited to 500 copies.

Azimuth Twin Barrel Tourbillon
February 27, 2009
The period before the BaselWorld watch and jewellery show is used by manufacturers to unveil their latest novelties. The young watchmaking company from Bienne – AZIMUTH – makes no exception. Recently it has presented its new Twin Barrel Tourbillon watch. The sensation in this case is not in the fact that the company that before specialized on production of timepieces on the basis of ЕТА 2836 and 7750, like «Mr. Roboto» watch, is planning now to present a tourbillon with two barrels, 5-days power reserve and original time indication, but in the surprising likeness to watches by the German watchmaker URWERK.
Azimuth says that its new timepiece is “not a watch, but a complex modern machine”. And indeed Twin Barrel Tourbillon is notable not just for an innovative mechanical movement, but a very original titanium case which resembles a miniature Lamborghini Murcielago. The case measures 50 mm X 45 mm X 25 mm in size. Domed double sapphire crystal protects the dial resembling a windscreen of some super car.
The hand-wound movement is equipped with a tourbillon complication and provides 120 hour of power reserve. The movement protected with an anti-shock system KIF is oscillating at 28,800 bph.
The new watch is produced in the limited edition of 25 pieces and is going to be available in June 2009.
