Audemars Piguet Millenary Carbon One Tourbillon Chronograph
November 11, 2009
Designers from Audemars Piguet have long been looking for the solution how to erase the border between the outer sides of the timepiece and it inner “heart” and step aside from the classical idea of the movement being hidden beneath the dial. The new watch - Millenary Carbon One Tourbillon Chronograph – presents a concept of a three-dimensional timepiece and opens to the view the structure of the movement, the symmetry of barrels and bridges.

One more goal pursuit n the new watch by Audemars Piguet watchmakers was to combine different modern materials. For example the bridges visible from the dial are made of black steel, and their back side is crafted from a special type of aluminium. The main plate is made of carbon. This material preserves its durability under different temperatures and is compatible with metals.
The new watch by Audemars Piguet is produced in a limited edition of 120 copies. The watch is assembled from details created and produced on the premises of Audemars Piguet manufactory in Le Brassus and Le Locle. The new watch is powered by an oval movement Audemars Piguet Calibre 2884 which is assembled at the manufactory for 15 day and then undergoes different tests.
