Angular Momentum La Boulle Classic Day & Night
December 21, 2009
In spite of the fact that models with 24-hours indication are quite popular among analogue watches lovers, watchmakers seem to produces not as many of them. The Bern-based watchmaking company Angular Momentum has decided to restore justice and created a new watch with 24-hours indication - La Boulle Classic Day & Night.

Alongside 24-hours indication of time provided by a Swiss automatic calibre the novelty by Angular Momentum is notable for several interesting details. For example the case of the new watch measures less in diameter than its predecessors – the size of the watch is 39 mm (47 mm together with the lugs for the strap), the height is 11.5 mm.
The case of the new Angular Momentum watch is finely finished: it is polished and satinized. Both front and back cases are protected with sapphire crystal. The bi-colour dial is made in vintage style: it is decorated in Verre Eglomise technique and shows thin elegant black hands.
On the whole the new Angular Momentum timepiece is really stylish and attractive. If you haven’t yet decided what to present to your near and dear or to yourself, this new watch can become a wonderful option.

New Concept by Angular Momentum
October 27, 2009
Angular Momentum has recently presented a new concept for watch design – Freehand. According to this concept the work of a watchmaker becomes similar to work of a potter who creates the future shape of an object only in the process of his work. In the beginning of the work the watchmakers are given steel, copper, sapphire crystal and a self-winding movement, luminescent treatment and enamel.

The main zest of the Angular Momentum concept is that the watchmaker is free to use any equipment and his creativity and imagination are not limited by some drafts of plans. The process starts with the manufacturing of the case measuring 40 to 46 mm in diameter and 11 to 12 mm in height. After that the movement is placed inside the case so that the crown would be in the correct position. Then the surfaces are covered with the mixture of enamel an luminescent treatment. After burning the case is polished and finished. And then lugs are soldered to the case. During the next stage the case is worked up with the pantograph and then the 0.60-mm hollows are also filled with the luminescent treatment.

The back sapphire crystal is gilded and covered with black Japanese varnish but a small aperture is left to watch the work of the movement. And the last stage is assembling of the watch and adding the strap.

Angular Momentum Crown Jewels of Nature Kingfisher
October 12, 2009
The watchmaking company from Bern – Angular Momentum – presents its new collection of timepieces made in Verre Eglomise technique (“gilded glass”). Gilding of glass is a very old and labour-intensive technique which has been practically forgotten in our days. It seems to be very simple: gilding, engraving, painting, and glazing. But in fact the main difficulty of the technique is that all these operations are maid at the reverse side of the glass which means that all of them are made in reverse order.

The designers from Angular Momentum have created an amazing and unique timepiece using this unusual technique. They decorated the reverse side of the sapphire crystal covering the dial with an intricate and refined pattern. The pattern shows to birds: kingfisher and cockatoo.
Not to distract attention from the marvellous pattern the time is indicated in a separate aperture by means of rotary discs. The case of the watch measures 40.8 mm and is crafted from white gold. It is refinely decorated with diamonds. Inside the watch there is a Swiss automatic movement.
