At BaselWorld 2009 the Swiss watchmaking company Alpina presented the Extreme Tourbillon Regulator Manufacture watch in black case which proved to be very successful. Today the brand proudly presents two new versions of this interesting timepiece in gold. Each new version is produced in a limited edition of 18 pieces.
The novelties are equipped with black dials and movements comprising 188 parts including the silicon anchor wheel and a silicon lever fork.

It took 3 years for the designers and engineers from Alpina to create this new automatic movement - Manufacture Tourbillon Regulator. The specialists worked hard to create the first in-house movement in order for alpine to have every right to be called a watch manufactory. And the innovative precision equipment and machinery were of much help to them.
The new calibre by Alpina was awarded with several prestigious prizes. And it served as the basis for the development of the new in-house tourbillon regulator AL-980. As a result the brand created an innovative watch movement featuring several original technical solutions: silicon anchor wheel, silicon lever fork, Smart Weight Balancing system, balance frequency of 28,800 bph and tourbillon cage with an individual number.
The novelty Extreme Tourbillon Regulator Manufacture combines all the strong features of the Alpina brand – high precision, perfect readability, shock-resistance, durability and reliability. The watch is housed by a 48-mm case crafted from titanium and framed by the rose gold bezel. The other version features a rose gold case with black ceramic bezel. The matt black dial shows two-digit numbers crafted from matt steel. The dial is protected with sapphire crystal.
Together with the excellent dial design the new Alpina timepiece preserved all the designer elements characteristic of the Extreme collection: relief patters formed by the black matt lines in the central part of the Regulator counter, skeletonized hands made of matt steel, originally decorated tourbillon bridges and visible through the sapphire crystal case back inertial load with black PVD-treatment and inscription Alpina.
The timepiece is secured on the wrist with a rubber strap.
The tourbillon is considered to be one of the most valuable complications. Combining the technical sophistication with sportive qualities the watchmakers from Alpina managed to create one their best watches.
