Alpina Avalanche Extreme Chrono Double Digit
December 16, 2009
Avalanche Extreme Chrono Double Digit: under this long name there is a new stylish and functional chronograph by the Swiss watchmaking brand Alpina.

The novelty is housed by a quite massive case with volume control buttons and six screws decorated with Alpina triangles. The new watch is accompanied with a reliable rubber strap.
The new Alpina chronograph is notable for the fact that traditional hour markers are replaced by minute markers of the same format. Well, to tell the truth a minute is a more dynamic variable that an hour so probably this solution is quite logical. Among the stylish eye-catching details there are hours and minutes hands. In one version they are skeletonized, in the other they are made of perfectly polished steel. The seconds hand features the proprietary triangle tip.
Well in general quite extreme and at the same time simple design of the new Alpina watch makes a good impression.
Among the functions provided by the watch there are hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph with 60-seconds and 30-minutes counters. At 6 o’clock there is an “open” date indicator. The dial is protected with sapphire crystal. Water resistance is 100 meters.
Inside the timepiece there is an automatic calibre Alpina AL 850 (on the basis of ETA) with 37 jewels. Balance frequency is 28,800 bph. The rotor’s main plate is coated with black PVD-treatment.
The new Alpina watch is available in two variants: cased in stainless steel with partial PVD-coating and a Full Black version with complete coating of the case.
