“Imagine something that is impossible to imagine” – calls the Maurice Lacroix brochure. And indeed, what can be more odd and unimaginable as a square wheel? Nevertheless it is the square wheel which has become the central element of the new Maurice Lacriox timepiece. Moreover, the square has teeth of unusual shape. It is placed at 12 o’clock and serves not only as a mere decoration of the dial. Its aperture with a luminescent hand is the hours indicator in original regulator. The square wheel is set in motion by the trefoil at 10 o’clock.
The novelty by Maurice Lacroix is powered by a manually wound calibre ML 153 which oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 bph. Power reserve makes up 48 hours. The movement boasts 32 jewels and animates the functions of hours, minutes, seconds and power reserve indication at 3-4 o’clock.
The timepiece is housed by a stainless steel case measuring 43.5 mm in diameter. The dial is shielded with a convex sapphire crystal coated with anti-reflection treatment from both sides. The screw-in back case is equipped with sapphire crystal of big size. The watch is water resistant down to 50 meters. It is produced in a limited series of 99 copies.

Dior Christal “8”
The new collection of luxury timepiece by Dior – Christal “8” – is dedicated to the founder of the fashion house – Christian Dior and his first fashion show “The Night” that took place in February 1947 in Paris.
The novelty by Dior is powered by the movement that was created specially for this model. Calibre Dior 8 Fuseaux Horaires was designed and created by Frank Orny and Johnny Girardin – the well known creators of the Metamorphosis concept timepiece for Montblanc, a fascinating watch that transforms into a chronograph via a slide mechanism on the side of the case.
The Dior Christal 8 comes in two editions limited to 5 and 100 copies respectively. Both variants are splendid: they are notable for inimitable elegance and luxurious design so characteristic of Dior.
The first variant of Dior Christal “8” watch, limited to 5 pieces, is housed by a yellow gold case and presents a striking Art Deco design of overlapping circles anchored by one in a bold red. The watch features a black sapphire crystal insert beneath the bezel and the dial created with red coral and ivory lacquered with mother-of-pearl and gold leaf. The watch tracks time in 8 time zones simultaneously with a unique annular display.
The second variant of the new Dior timepiece, limited to 100 copies, features the same circular theme on the dial but at the same time the watch looks different from its “sibling”. The golden circles, of which one is the 8 time zone annular display, sit against a mother-of-pearl backdrop accented with golden hands. A diamond set bezel glitters against the stainless case and bracelet, which is set with three rows of white sapphire crystals.

Concord C1 Code Chronograph Watch

The watchmaking company Concord is proud to present its new creation - C1 Code Chronograph watch that looks like a gadget created specially for mathematicians. The novelty boasts a dial shielded with sapphire crystal invaded by an algebraic formula that actually hints at the structural complexity of the watch. The formula is placed right amid the time readings.
The timepiece was unveiled during the BaselWorld fair 2010. It houses a COSC certified self-winding movement Valgranges that provides power reserve of 48 hours. The movement is accommodated by a steel case coated with PVD. The case comprises 53 components and measures 44 mm. The crow consists of 7 elements. The dial is made of carbon fiber. The set of functions is standard: hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph and date. The 3-level dial is protected by sapphire crystal coated with the anti-reflection treatment from both sides. Water resistance is 200 meters.
The mathematic formulae make the main peculiarity of the new Concord timepiece. The inscription looks both original and simple – as if somebody hastily wrote something with the chalk. The imposing layered dial demonstrates an eye-catching contrast between brushed steel and black carbon fiber. Found on either side of the chronograph counters, the date display and the continuously rotating small seconds disk make up a harmonious highly readable layout.
The new Concord C1 Code Chronograph watch is completed with a black vulcanized black rubber strap.

Chopard Happy Sport
The first half of the year 2010 was rich in significant events for the famous jewellery and watchmaking company Chopard: the release of the brand’s history book, new luxury collection of watches, original transformer-watch – all this was pleasant and delightful not only for the company itself but also for its amateurs. On the other hand, it is not surprising – this year Chopard celebrates its 150th anniversary and festive “souvenirs” make a very important part of the celebrations.
One more novelty dedicated to the important event is the new Chopard Happy Sport collection. The zest of this collection of timepieces is the diamonds floating between the dial and sapphire crystal. In the jubilee range of Happy Sport watches the precious stones look like little stars and the dark blue dial creates the effect of the night skies.
The novelty by Chopard is available in two variants: with a smooth bezel (Ref. 278475-3020) or with the bezel set with diamonds (Ref. 278475.3021).
The timepiece is secured on the wrist with the elegant dark blue alligator leather strap. The new watch will be produced in a limited edition of 1000 copies.

The renowned watchmaking company Piaget proudly unveils its new horological masterpiece - Emperador Full-Set Coussin Perpetual Calendar – which is more of an exquisite jewellery accessory than a timekeeping device. The new watch is produced is a strictly limited edition of 20 pieces. With the new Emperador Full-Set Coussin Perpetual Calendar watch Piaget demonstrates its extensive experience in the excellent gem-setting of the timepieces.
The heart of the new Piaget watch is a mechanical self-winding Calibre 856P movement, which operates at a frequency 21,600 bph and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The miniature thin calibre (5.6 mm thick) animates an amazing range of functions: the indication of hours and minutes, small seconds at 4 o’clock, month and leap year at 12 o’clock, as well as retrograde day of the week and date at 3 o’clock. Moreover, a dual time-zone can be read off from two hands in a counter, located at 9 o’clock. Besides, the movement provides the day/night indication indexed to the central hour.
The movement is beautifully decorated: its main plate and bridges are circular-grained and beveled, their flanks, meanwhile, are hand-drawn. The blued screws and circular Cotes de Geneve pattern add to the refined decoration of the movement which can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.
The new Piaget timepiece is housed by an 18K white gold case embellished with 314 brilliant-cut diamonds, with the total weight of 2.5 carats, and 60 baguette-cut diamonds, which weight totals to 5 carats. The crown is adorned with 12 baguette-cut diamonds.
The dial of the watch shows guilloche and satin-brushed counters and applied 18K white gold hour-markers. The dial features 263 brilliant-cut diamonds whose total weight constitutes 1.2 carats.
The amazingly luxurious Piaget Emperador Full-Set Coussin Perpetual Calendar watch is completed with a black alligator leather strap fitted with an 18K white gold pin buckle decorated with 7 baguette-cut diamonds.
