Cartier Presents In-House Movement

The famous jewellery and watchmaking house of Cartier proudly presents a new collection of watches equipped with a self-winding movement that was fully designed and assembled in the company’s manufactories.
The timepieces from the new Cartier collection are housed by stainless steel cases with insertions of 18K gold. The diameter of the case is 42 mm.
The watches are powered by the in-house movement calibre 1904PSMC based on 27 jewels. The movement provides 48 hours of power reserve. One can see the movement through the transparent back case.
The new Cartier collection of watches is notable for the small seconds placed at the lower part of the dial, the date aperture for three days and a big hour marker for 12 o’clock.

Panerai Radiomir Composite Marina Militare 8 Giorni
The renowned watchmaking company from Italy Officine Panerai has presented a new watch - Radiomir Composite Marina Militare 8 Giorni – that features a recognizable style of the brand. This time the traditional design is realized in the noble shades of brown. The new watch is produce in a limited edition of 1000 pieces.
The new Panerai watch is powered by a manually wound movement comprising 191 parts - Panerai P.2002/7. Owing to three barrels the movement provides impressive 8 days of power reserve. It also boasts 21 jewels, Glucydur balance and KIF Parechoc anti-shock device. Balance frequency makes up 28,800 bph.
The new Panerai Radiomer is housed by a 47-mm case made of a composite material. The dial of the new watch is protected by sapphire crystal that is 1.9 mm thick. The winding crown is decorated with the brand’s logo. The timepiece is 100 meters water resistant.
The brown dial shows luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. At 9 o’clock there is a small seconds subdial. The new watch is secured on the wrist with a Panerai personalized leather strap equipped with a large size brown Panerai composite material buckle.

Louis Moinet: Meteors and Planets in Haute Horlogerie
The well-known watchmaking company Louis Moinet has recently presented a unique collection of timepieces that feature small parts of meteors from different planets. For example the dial of the Mars Tourbillon watch is based on the meteor from Mars that is used in watchmaking for the first time in history. The watch is housed by the white gold case decorated with 56 baguette diamonds whose total weight makes up 3.46 carat.
The next timepiece from the new collection by Louis Moinet is called the Rosetta Stone. For this watch the designers from Louis Moinet used a small part of the oldest of meteors found on our planet – the Rosetta Stone whose age is about 4 566 200 000 years. The Rosetta Stone watch is housed by the case consisting of 50 parts. It is crafted from 18K rose gold.
The third timepiece from the new collection uses a small part of the meteor Itqiy that formed near the Sun. The bezel of the timepiece housed by a white gold case is decorated with the finest diamonds.
The Moon was given special attention by the watchmakers from Louis Moinet. The dark structure of the Moon with the tiny insertions can be observed at the dial of the Moon Tourbillon watch housed by a rose gold case.
The watches from the new unique collection by Louis Moinet have become part of the Meteoris project – an original model of the Solar system that shows the orbits of Mercury, Venus, the Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto that go round the Sun. The blue rotary disc depicts the signs of Zodiac that change their position relatively to the Sun. All the constellations consisting of 154 stars are covered with the gold dust.

The new Limelight Jazz Party collection by Piaget was inspired by the world of music and particularly by the charming sounds of jazz. The music theme is clearly seen in all the timepieces from the collection: the watches are decorated with the images of notes. And one of the models for women - Limelight Exceptional Secret – looks just like piano keys with the white ones sparkling with the finest diamonds.
The male model from the new Piaget collection features a more modest design but at the same time it looks absolutely marvellous. The dial of the Piaget Polo Tourbillon Jazz Party Record watch looks like an old gramophone record. The role of the gramophone needle is played by the hand and the hour markers look like notes. The watch is housed by a white-gold case. The heart of the watch is the in-house Calibre 608P - a manually wound movement with a flying tourbillon that sets the pace with the regularity of a metronome.
The new collection will be presented to public during the SIHH 2010 that is now taking place in Geneva.
