DOXA Chateau des Monts Limited Edition

Celebrating its 120th anniversary the watchmaking brand Doxa draws inspiration for the jubilee timepiece from the image of the famous Chateau des Monts in Le Locle, Switzerland. This sumptuous building has been the symbol of the brand since the time of its creation as the founder of the company, Georges Ducommun, lived in Le Locle for many years. Loyal to the historical roots that made a good basis for the brand’s success the new “Chateau des Monts” watch by Doxa deliberately repeats the design of a man’s timepiece of the 1920s.
Nevertheless the technical characteristics of the new watch are quite up-to-date. The manually wound movement is decorated in the style typical of Doxa.
The case of the new watch is crafted from stainless steel and equipped with AR-coated convex sapphire crystal. The hinged cover at the back case protects a transparent aperture allowing admiring the work of the movement. At the cover there is also an engraved individual number of the watch. The dial is black, ivory or white. It reveals white or blue hands, hour markers and small seconds counter at 9 o’clock.
The new Doxa Chateau des Monts watch is secured at the wrist with a leather strap with buckle. The new timepiece will be produced in two series of 120 copies.

Cuervo y Sobrinos Torpedo Historiador Semanal
The renowned Cuban watchmaking brand Cuervo y Sobrinos presents its new timepiece - Torpedo Historiador Semanal.
At first the big number of numerals at the dial makes you a little bit dizzy but later after your eyes get used to them the watch appears very attractive and the absence of the seconds hand seems even comfortable. Together with the indication of day, date and month the watch features an additional specially designed module which like the movement first created by the comapny in the 1940s shows the number of the week in the year.
The new modified movement of the Torpedo Historiador Semanal measures 2.55 mm in height and feature 6 additional jewels. The readings correction is carried out with the help of two winding crowns at 8 and 10 o’clock. The basic movement is the calibre ЕТА 2892-A 2.
The movement of the new Cuervo y Sobrinos watch is housed by a steel or rose gold case (the latter is 50 pieces limited) measuring 45 mm in diameter. The case is equipped with sapphire crystal and a see-through case back. The new watch is 50 meters water resistant.

Oris BC4 “Der Meisterflieger”

The regulator is one of the most interesting watch movement complications and one of the watchmakers’ favourites. Now it entered the collection Oris BC4 Aviation as well and turned into one more aviation gadget needed for a pilot.
The new Oris BC4 “Der Meisterflieger” was created with taking into account the opinion of the aviation experts (the team of British helicopter pilots Blue Eagles Helicopter Display Team). On the one hand the novelty preserves all typical features –technical and design – of the BC4 collection of timepieces. On the other hand the new Regulateur movement has only one central hand – the minute one. That’s why it’s so easy to tell minutes as neither hour hand nor second hand match the minute hand. Owing to the minute scale with special markers the time is very easy read. And the roatry outer scale with reverse makers operated with a vertical crown at 2 o’clock can be used as the countdown scale to help the pilot to define the time left for changing the course.
The new Oris timepiece features a steel case with 7 screws measuring 42.7 mm in diameter. The back case is equipped with a see-through aperture. Both front and back cases are equipped with domed sapphire crystal coated with an inner antireflect treatment. The black dial is two-level with appliqué nickel indices and luminescent numerals. The crown features a Quick Lock Crown fixing system. The watch is 100 meters water resistant.
The movement remained the same - Oris 649 based on ETA 2836-2.

Epos Five Minute Repeate
Some people believe that a repeater-watch is a kind of path to the Haute Horologerie world for the brands which earlier were positioned as mid-priced. And this is proved by the appearance of the Five Minute Repeater watch in the family of Epos timepieces. The new watch is going to be produced in quite a big edition of 200 copies.
The new Epos Five Minute Repeater is housed by a steel case measuring 42.5 mm in diameter and 12.9 mm in height. The case of the watch is equipped with domed sapphire crystal and a transparent case back cover. The new timepiece is 50 meters water resistant. The partially opened black dial with applied luminous indexes reveals the finely decorated movement.
The Five Minute Repeater accommodates an automatic calibre ETA 2892-A2 with a repeater module DD 88 which is operated with the help of the button at 8 o’clock. The movement is decorated with perlage and blued screws.
The new Epos watch goes together with a leather strap with folding buckle.

Corum Ti-Bridge
At it was seen at the Corum stand at BaselWorld 2009 the promise made by new CEO to modernize the product line was made real. The legendary Golden Bridge was preserved only in a women’s model of the though 90 degrees turned. The male collection of timepieces equipped with the new manufactory calibre CO 007 can be called the Titanium Bridge. Having lost the feeling of lightness of the openwork movement the new model looks more sportive and up-to-date.
The new Corum Ti-Bridge is housed by a titanium case measuring 42.5 X 41.5 mm. The case features alternated polished and satinized surfaces. The dial is protected with AR-coated sapphire crystal. The back case is secured with 6 screws. At the back case there is also an engraved company’s logo and a transparent aperture to watch the work of the movement. The new Corum timepiece is 50 meters water resistant.
The bridge at the openwork dial is supported by 4 V-shaped bridges for stability and to match the architectural theme. The new CO 007 movement is inspired by the Golden Bridge caliber. The bridges and plates of the caliber CO 007 are cut from this ultra-modern material. The new movement is equipped with a balance oscillating at the speed of 4 Hz. It provides 72 hours of power reserve.
The new Corum watch is accompanied with a black alligator leather strap. It will be produced in the limited edition of 750 copies and in 2009 only.
