Cartier Calibre Flying Tourbillon

At the SIHH 2010 the new timepiece by Cartier - Calibre Flying Tourbillon – has become the most eye-catching watch presented by the brand. The new watch boast a spectacular appearance: the design is perfectly balanced by the circles put one into another. The flying tourbillon acquires the axis center being placed in front of the protruding hour marker. Elegant guilloche is perfectly shaded by thin lines of markers and is further accentuated by the inner openwork side of the bezel. The latter in its turn forms the last of the circles. The octagonal crown of the new Cartier watch is decorated with a cabochon sapphire.
The new Cartier Calibre Flying Tourbillon is housed by a 45-mm case crafted from 18K white or rose gold. The dial shows hours and minutes hands made of blued steel. The tourbillon place in one more circle at the dial also counts the minutes. And this is the main zest o the Cartier’s novelty: the owner of the watch can check the time with the help of any of the three dials.
The heart of the new Cartier watch is an in-house manually wound movement calibre 9452МС that comprises 142 parts. The movement is stamped with the prestigious Geneva Seal. It is based on 19 rubies. Balance frequency is 21,600 bph while power reserve makes up 52 hours.
The dial as well as the case back is equipped with sapphire crystal. Water resistance is 30 meters.
The new timepiece by Cartier is secured on the wrist with an alligator leather strap that is available in two versions – white and brown. The strap is equipped with a clasp crafted from 18K gold.

Versace Destiny Spirit
The renowned fashion brand Versace has presented its new glamorous timepiece - Destiny Spirit – that will become one of the headliners of the brand during the forthcoming BaselWorld Watch and Jewellery Show 2010. The new watch is a new version of a timepiece released in 2008.
The novelty by Versace looks very refined, feminine and sensual. The watch is housed by a gilded steel case covered with IP treatment. The case is decorated with an engraved logo of Versace – the world-recognized head of Gorgon. The special charm is given to the timepiece by the miniature balls that are moving in the space between the dial and the bezel decorated with Clous de Paris pattern.
The deep black colour of the dial is accentuated with a black alligator leather strap equipped with a gilded steel folding clasp.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Chrono in Platinum

The legendary and prestigious Swiss watchmaking company Vacheron Constantin has recently presented a new version of its Patrimony chronograph with perpetual calendar in a platinum case.
The watch is powered with a legendary Calibre Patrimony 1141QP movement that is only 7.4 mm thick which is an exceptional characteristic for a mechanical chronograph manually wound movement. Power reserve of the Patrimony 1141QP makes up 48 hours. In addition to the hours and minutes with the small seconds on the left, the movement indicates the elapsed time with the central chronograph seconds and a 30-minute counter on the right. In the perpetual calendar, the days, months and leap years are nicely arranged in apertures while the moon phases and dates hand are displayed at 6 o’clock.
The designers from Vacheron Constantin decided to put the exceptional movement into the expensive platinum case consisting of 950 elements. The case measures 43 mm in diameter. The dial is available in several versions: opaline silver with silvered subdials or velvety grey with snailed subdials in black rhodium. The dial is protected with convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside. The watch also boasts a screwed-down exhibition back with transparent sapphire crystal Water resistance is equal to 30 metres.
The new Vacheron Constantin watch is equipped with a black hand-stitched, saddle-finish, square-shape scales alligator leather strap with a 950 platinum folding-clasp with a polished half Maltese Cross.

Frederique Constant Junior
The renowned Swiss watchmaking company Frederique Constant has justly decided that one shouldn’t wait for their kids to grow up to make him or her appreciate the quality and prestige of Swiss watchmaking. So recently the brand has presented its new collection - Junior – that was specially created for teenagers from 12 to 16. The head of the company Peter Stas noted that he is convinced that fathers will like to present their sons with real watches and not with plastic trinkets that can be found on market today.
The new Frederique Constant Junior Collection features both quartz and mechanical watches. As a real family watch each model from the new Frederique Constant Junior collection has some space at the case back meant for personal engraving. The customers can design the engraving themselves.
The Junior watches by Frederique Constant feature three-part cases measuring 38 mm in diameter. The dials are protected with antireflective sapphire crystal. The watches are notable for silvered and black galvanised dials with applied indexes covered with superluminova treatment. The Junior watches are completed with brown and black straps, as well as metal bracelets.

Thomas Prescher Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon
The new timepiece by Thomas Prescher - Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon – attracts one’s attention at first sight: it seems that the time indicated by the rotary discs at the upper part of the transparent dial is controlled by the sole tourbillon in the center.
Thomas Prescher managed to achieve such an effect owing to the original solution: he hid the movement under the bezel in the right and the left parts of the dial. So the movement is actually divided into two parts. At the top of the case are the time functions – hours on the left, minutes on the right. In between them is a three dimensional (round) moon. At the bottom of the watch is a rather interesting calendar. According to Prescher, the calendar can be read regardless of which side of the watch is up. This is because the calendar is integrated with a horizontal swinging oscillating weight that relies on gravity.
The harmonious symmetry is completed by the two crowns at both sides of the case. With the help of one of them the owner of the watch can wind it while with the help of the second one the time and calendar are adjusted.
The new mysterious and mesmerizing Thomas Prescher timepiece is completed with an elegant leather strap.
