Girard-Perregaux 1966

The Swiss watchmaking manufactory Girard-Perregaux has recently presented its new watch from the Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection. The new timepiece boasts an annual calendar and the function of the time equation. Owing to the “smart” annual calendar, that changes the date according to the length of the current month on its own, the owner of the new timepiece by Girard-Perregaux will only have to change the date by himself once a year – on February 28 of non-leap years. The date correction won’t cause much trouble owing to the possibility to adjust the date by turning the crown in the necessary direction.

The function of the time equation is not a practical but equally favoured by the exclusive watch amateurs and connoisseurs. A hand at 4.30 shows the difference between the local and real solar time allowing the owner to forget about social limits and follow the rules of the Sun.

These and other functions of the new Girard-Perregaux timepiece are animated by the in-house movement GP033M0 comprising 287 individual parts. The movement is a self-winding one. It features 44 jewels and provides power reserve for at least 46 hours.

The new watch is housed by a classical 40-mm case made of 18k rose gold. The gold leaf-shaped hands contrast well against the blued steel hands of the subdials. The dial is protected with sapphire crystal. The timepiece is completed with an elegant black leather strap with a rose gold buckle.

The new timepiece is fully developed and created with the help of the Romain Gauthier in-house production facilities in Vallee de Joux. The new watch was created specially for those who know what’s what in the watchmaking – for collectors who prefer to wear only exclusive models of watches. Each timepiece from the new line boasts manual assembly and refined finishing.

The new Romain Gauthier watch is notable for the crown that is located horizontally below the movement so that the watch could be wound without putting it off the wrist.

The new watch is powered by an in-house manually wound movement calibre 2206 Hms beating at the frequency of 28,800 bph. The movement provides 60 hours of power reserve and the functions of hours, minutes and seconds.

The famous Hollywood actor Andy Garcia has been announced a new ambassador of the renowned and reputable watchmaking brand Baume & Mercier.

The famous actor joined the family of the brand’s ambassadors that already includes such celebrities as Teri Hatcher, Ashton Kutcher and Kim Basinger.

The first advertising campaign featuring Andy Garcia is dedicated to the Baume & Mercier Classima Exclusives XL collection of timepieces.

Moreover Andy Garcia will become the 2010 ambassador for Baume & Mercier’s charity initiative.
