Perrelet Presents New iPhone Application

The watchmaking company Perrelet cared for both male and female owners of the fashionable gadget and presented two watch applications – the Diamond Flower for women and the Turbine Double Rotor for men.

Based on the principle of the Double Rotor, the Turbine and the Diamond Flower twirl with your telephone’s slightest movement. Thanks to its motion detectors, the effect is extremely realistic and the illusion is so lifelike, that you may want to wear your iPhone on your wrist, because the programme will serve as your clock. The two models with their various versions will display the actual time.

Linde Werdelin Launches New Application for iPhone

For many years the founders of the watchmaking brand Linde Werdelin Morten Linde and Jorn Werdelin have been spending their free time practicing alpine ski. That’s why they have become real experts on alpine ski tourism. In 2006 they decided to share their experience and knowledge with other amateurs of winter sports and launched a manual for alpine skiers Linde Werdelin Ski Guide with useful tips and information about European ski resorts.

This year the new edition of the Guide was published not only on paper but also in the form of an application for iPhone and iPod Touch which made the use even more convenient.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Opens Virtual School for Watchmakers

The Swiss manufactory Jaeger-LeCoultre has become the first among the watchmaking brands to present an iPhone application which allows the users not only have a look at Jaeger-LeCoultre watches but also become a student of a watchmakers’ school and learn about all the stages of creation of masterpiece watches. The application was developed in cooperation with Phonevalley.

iPhone owners can have a close look at 60 best timepieces by Jeager-LeCoultre: from Reverso Squadra to Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2, as well as Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic. Besides, the application features a watchmaker’s glossary and 6 lessons for amateur watchmakers. Following the lessons the iPhone owner can assemble a chronograph movement, decorate it, polish it and engrave it. The last lesson gives students the task to decorate the Reverso Neva watch setting the case with diamonds.

Having done all the lessons students can take an exam. Those who answer all the questions without mistakes will have a chance to win a prize – an excursion to Jaeger-LeCoultre manufactory.

iPhone Prefers Official Partnership with Watchmakers

The trend to create timepiece-applications for iPhone causes not only benefits as interaction of watchmaking and advanced technology but also certain problems.
