The House of Boucheron has decided to release a real masterpiece dedicated to the company’s anniversary. On the one hand, to tell the truth, there are lots of jewellery watches, but on the other hand, this one is really marvellous as if it appeared from a fairy-tale and not had been done by talented jewellers.

The company plans to produce only 8 copies of Tourbillon Bestiaire, and this fact speaks for itself: the less the number of copies, the more luxurious the object is. The 44-mm dial is protected by sapphire crystal, and on the top of the crystal there is a miniature frog trustfully looking at you with its diamond eyes, and in front of the frog there is a marvelous flower made of precious stones. The watch is adorned with rubies, sapphires and many other precious and semi precious stones. The strap is also special: it is made of scate leather tinctured in pink or strawberry colour.

The watch is very feminine, a little bit childish (you won’t wear it for a grand reception) but absolutely admirable. And even a society lioness will feel extravagant and glamorous without losing her real personality.

This year the first watch advertisement contest was held in Switzerland. The jury consisting of the experts and thousands of average people throughout the world were choosing the best press advertising campaign conducted by a watch brand.

The advertising was evaluated by the following criteria

• creativity
• innovation
• credibility of information
• esthetics
• effectiveness

The contest featured over 50 advertisement campaigns. The first prize, which is no wonder, went to Philippe Patek: “fathers and sons� is truly one of the best and most universal advertisement solutions which works for years.

According to the jury proper the best advertisements idea belongs to the book of comics by Cartier to support the new model Balloon Bleu. Moreover, special prizes went to:

• Bedat&Co for originality
• Jaermann & Stubi for texts
• Girard Perregaux for the concept
• Hermes for the best esthetics

Rolex has opened its new boutique in Geneva in ru du Ron in the building which is the property of the retailer Bucherer. Nevertheless the Rolex saloon is not completely autonomous in management and personnel recruitment.

Such an agreement suits both the companies: the Rolex section increases the prestige and attendance of the shop, and Rolex, in its turn, finds itself in the company of prestigious brands maintaining independence.

The companies have a long collaboration history. The first agreement was signed between Carl-Fredrick Bucherer and the founder of Rolex in 1924: the young manufacturer and retailer decided to collaborate in order to maintain independence from the dictate of huge cartels.

On Saturday a number of armed robbers burst into a Harry Winston boutique right after its opening time, when there were no customers.

Threatening the stuff the criminals packed watches and jewelry worth more than 10 million euro and disappeared.

This robbery has been one of the biggest for the recent years. And the most outraging thing is that Harry Winston masterpieces will hardly ever find its true fans – the devices are likely to be sold on black market at a significantly reduced price.
