Zero Wristwatch: Nothing but Time
March 9, 2010
The new concept watch Zero Wristwatch created by a German designer Robert Dabi can be considered a real challenge for those who create and wear such multifunctional devices as touch-screen timepieces of WiFi watches. Zero Wristwatch shows nothing but time. What is interesting it doesn’t show any hands or the dial either.

But at the same time the new concept watch boasts a stylish smooth case in trendy minimalist style. This is probably the main designer idea about the watch: it is free from all “unnecessary” elements that make the appearance of the watch heavier and distract attention from the device itself.

Instead of hours and minutes hands the metal markerless “dial” shows two comets – a little and a big one. They serve as the indicators of the actual time. The designer believes that it is quite convenient: the owner just has to get a bit accustomed to this original way of time indication.

Owing to the stylish design and variety of colour schemes the timepiece can become a nice accessory substituting a trendy bracelet. Unfortunately the timepiece is still just a concept and it not known when the Zero Wristwatch will be realized in production. Let’s hope it happens soon: the Zero Wristwatch will certainly become a must-have for all fashion conscious people.

If you are fascinated by everything unusual and original, if you are not afraid to stand out of the crowd and always show your individuality - than the new concept watch by a Japanese designer Jihun Yeom.

The new Aurora Automatic concept watch accentuates the idea of minimalism in everything. The timepiece has no dial but the hands are clearly seen as they are substituted by laser light beams. The red beam indicates the minutes and the blue depicts the hour. They appear only when you tap the bevel edge around the watch ring; until then it’s just a hip jewellery around your wrist. The time is perfectly read without numerals owing to markers at the elegant elongate case.
