April 19, 2010
The new collection of watches boasting outstanding innovative design by the Danish watchmaking brand Skagen has impressed the jury of one of the most prestigious international contests in the sphere of design – the Red Dot. The jury was impressed so much that they decided to award Henrik and Charlotte Jorst with two Red Dot prizes instead of one.

The key designers and co-founders of Skagen got the Red Dot Design Awards for the collection of timepieces produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the brand and for the Skagen Swiss Movement 585 collection.
The winners will get their prizes during the special award-giving event on July 5, 2010, that will be held in the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany. In Essen, the 2010 European Capital of Culture, the product will then be presented in a four-week special exhibition at the Red Dot Design museum.
The Skagen Denmark 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Timepiece Collection was personally inspired and designed by the Jorsts. The 20th Anniversary timepiece collection celebrated the 233 style that Skagen introduced in 2001 and that is recognized as a Skagen Denmark signature style. For its 20th anniversary, Skagen Designs offered its most popular design with exclusive platinum plated cases and silver colored dials. The 233 design has come to embody the spirit of the Skagen Denmark brand. Its extremely thin profile and elegant layered dial are the perfect embodiment of the elements of Danish Design for which the Skagen Denmark brand is recognized.
The brand of Skagen owes its name to a town in Denmark. It was established in 1990and is the official watch of the Danish royal family.
