Hublot Red Devil Bang

English football club Manchester United and Swiss watch manufactory Hublot have signed the cooperation and partnership contract. So the Hublot logo will be at t-shirts of Red Devils, and their fans will be able to purchase a watch dedicated to this event – a chronograph Red Devil Bang.
This black ceramic chronograph displaying a 45-minutes counter – the duration of a football match half – was especially developed by Hublot for football and Manchester United. “Big Bang” features a 44.5-mm case in satin-polished black ceramics. The case is equipped with sapphire crystal with interior/exterior anti-reflection treatment. The crown and push-pieces are made of steel with black rubber insert. Water-resistance is 100 meters.
Matt black microblasted dial with red index appliqués markers is equipped with a 45-minute counter with yellow figures at 9:00, Red Devil logo in the counter at 3:00. The hands are brilliant black with yellow luminescent feature, chronograph hand is red.
The watch is based on Hublot HUB45 calibre with the 45-minute counter mechanical chronograph with automatic winding. A good supplement to the Red Devil Bang is an adjustable ribbed black rubber strap with a steel and black PVD deployant clasp.

Geneva vs. Antwerp
The CEO of Franck Muller Group Vartan Sirmakes is planning to turn Geneva into the new diamond capital of Europe depriving this status from Antwerp. Fro this purpose near Port-Franc Geneva Diamond Center is being built. The total square of the building will be 10 000 square meters. The opening of the centre is planned for the autumn 2009.
In the Diamond Center it will be possible not only to buy diamonds without value-added tax but also send the stones for the certification and customs check. According to Sirmakes’s idea the opening of the Diamond Centre will accompany the launching of a new annual fair - Salon International du Diamant – which will take place in Geneva too.
Taken into consideration, the prospects of the new centre, the fair, preferential trade terms approved by the Swiss government, location of the Centre (not far from the airport) and the fact that most brands-consumers of diamonds are located in Switzerland make the specialists believe that Sirmakes’s project will become a serious competitor to Antwerp…
And the leader of Franck Muller (a jeweller by education) after the realisation of the project will become one of the most influential people in the luxury industry.

ORIS Team
In the suburbs of Freiburg, Germany, cycle racing competitions are held every year. The race has an official name - Schauinslandkоеnig (King of Schauinsland). The town of Freiburg is situated on the south-west of Germany not far from the Swiss border and is famous for its splendid nature. Schauinslandkоеnig race in its turn is famous for its being very complicated, the height difference in some places reach 800 meters.
Among the participants this year there was team Oris sponsored by the watchmaking company Oris and consisting of 6 cyclists. Among the members of the team there is the leader of the company’s design department Ralf Hilbich, a person that is rather well-known in the world of cycling.
Although official timekeeping of the race was exercised by the electronic system, each member of the Oris team had his own personal device for timekeeping – a chronograph by Oris.

Pendulum Clock for the 400th Anniversary of Quebec

Pendulum Clock for the 40th Anniversary of Quebec seems to be the most significant creation of the noted watchmaking genius Richard Mille, at least in size.
Pendulum Clock for the 400th Anniversary of Quebec is 3.5 meters high and 2.5 meters wide. As it is understood from the name the clock is dedicated to the 400th anniversary of foundation of province of Quebec. The clock was gifted by the Jura canton (Switzerland) to the Canadian province as the symbol of friendship. The ceremony of donation took place during the Francophone Summit of October 18 -19, 2008. The clock is going to become a constant exhibit in the Bibliotheque Gabrielle Roy in Quebec.
As far as the technical side is concerned, the clock is made in a manner characteristic of Mille. The clock features constant power of the mainspring, a perpetual calendar and second time zone indication (Jura time).
