Louis Moinet presents its beautiful novelty Vertalis Tourbillon. The timepiece is based on an innovative aesthetic concept, representing an original blend of exclusive technology and design.
The watch owes its name to its originally accentuated upright location of a minute tourbillon with a second hand, hour and minute hands and a barrel on the one bridge whose bases are taken out of the case. The vertical bar reveals the technology of the timepiece, extending over onto the case in most original way. The timepiece has been inspired by the historically important inventions of Louis Moinet, and, in particular, by some of the drawings published in the watchmaker’s renowned horological encyclopedia - 1848 Traite d’Horlogerie. The outer part of the barrel is made open allowing the owner to see the level of winding spring’s tension.
The exclusive hand-wound Vertalis Tourbillon movement, decorated with ‘Cotes du Jura’ engraving and blued steel screws, beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Power reserve is 72 hours.
The back-case is naturally transparent so you can enjoy the view of working springs of the octopus type: at the back there are three of them. The case back, secured with 4 screws, features the engraving of the individual number and Louis Moinet markings.
A lot of attention was given to the case consisting of 50 parts. The case is 47 mm in diameter and is made of rose or white gold. The case construction incorporates the Louis Moinet crown guard, with the stem to allow easy replacement if necessary. It is 30-meter water-resistance.
The watch is produced in limited series of 20 copies the prices of which are fluctuating from CHF 215000 to CHF 220000.
