Vintage 1945 Tourbillon Hyperion Edition
September 3, 2008
The world of luxury is distant and mysterious. It’s rather difficult to imagine a car with parquet floor and an on-board tourbillon clock. It’s really difficult… But it exists.
A Rolls Royce, created in the design-studio Pininfarina and named Hyperion, combined in itself everything exept for a timepiece. And this device was made for the car by Girard-Perregaux.
Specially created for this project Vintage 1945 Tourbillon Hyperion Edition features a unique strap design allowing the owner to unfasten the case from the strap and to mounted it into the dashboard. The meticulously-hand-crafted 30-jewel movement has 72 components but weighs less than a third of a gram, encased in 18-karat white gold with a dial colored the same light blue as the Hyperion it was made to accompany.
The last thing worth noticing is that there is only one-of-a-kind Hyperion that was designed specially for the Rolls-Royces’ collector Roland Holl.
