DB24 Vetrois is a novelty by DE BETHUNE manufactory which combines four from the 5 patent products of the company. They are balance made of titanium and platinum, flat balance spring arcuate clip, triple shockproof system with a titanium gripper bridge and a device for the automatic movement intensiveness control. The owner of this watch can choose one from three winding speed modes: sporty, general and slow, depending on strength and intensiveness of hand moves. Special indicator, showing the speed, can be seen through the transparent back case and at the dial (horizontal double edged hand with L-M-N scales).
As the brand’s designers claim, the appearance of the watch has the spirit of New York architecture of 1930s. David Zanetta and Denis Flageollet have managed to take advantage of the use of titanium like William Van Allen did with steel to construct the spire of the Chrysler Building in one piece. 48-mm case is made of titanium. It reveals a dial in blued titanium with a brushed finish. The watch is based on the self-winding calibre DB2424 with a two-barrel system (balance frequency 28,800 vph, 53 jewels) which provides 6-days’ power reserve. Power reserve indicator is located at the 12 o’clock. The watch is water resistant to 500 metres.

Avenue Square A2 Men
After a successful début of the Avenue Square for women HARRY WINSTON has presented a male version of the watch.
In comparison with the female version Avenue Square A2 Men is much more functional: GMT indicator is equipped with additional time indicators for each zone and a big vertical date indicator. Innovative and complicated, the module of the Avenue Squared for men was developed by Harry Winston on a robust, self-winding calibre, and fully assembled at the Harry Winston Manufacture in Geneva, Switzerland.
Avenue Square A2 Men is housed by a white gold case 43.4 x 44.7mm in size. The bezel is set with 60 oversized baguette diamonds totaling 9.87 cts, for the ultimate in luxurious sophistication. The watch features 30 meters water resistance and is supplemented with an alligator leather strap. The series is 25 pieces limited.

Balmain: in Love with Miss Switzerland
Balmain reports about the continuation of its “affair” with Miss Switzerland. The most beautiful women of Switzerland have been Balmain’s ambassadors since 2005.
As Balmain’s spokesmen say their “union with Miss Switzerland is strengthened not by a wedding rind but by a wrist watch“.

Carl F. Bucherer Launches a Show about Travels
Carl F. Bucherer will be sponsoring a “City by City“ show which wlii be broadcasted at www.citybycity.tv.
The watch company has already signed agreements with several dozens of authors which will travel around Europe and Asia. Their reports will contain information about museums, hotels, clubs, bars, restaurants, unusual and interesting attractions.
As the spokesmen of the manufactory has explained this project is aimed at demonstration of Carl F. Bucherer’s interest not only in innovations in the sphere of watchmaking but also I methods of being in dialogue with its customers.
“The spirit of innovations and travels is characteristic of our customers”, Bruno Ufer, Carl F. Bucherer’s executive vice president, said. “And we are going to support it. Our new project will help people to orientate in the world of tourism and bring the joy of new knowledge to them “.

Albert Einstein’s Watch will be Sold by Auction

Historically valuable Albert Einstein’s wrist watch will be sold by auction at Antiquorum. The auction will take place on October 16 in New York.
The watch has been priced at $25 – 35 thousand. It is a Longines watch made of 14K gold. The timepiece looks rather humble, but the experts think its price will go up as it used to belong to the greatest scientist, the author of the theory of relativity.
This Longines watch was made in 1930. Einstein was presented with this timepiece in 1931. The lot also includes some pictures where Albert Einstein is photographed with the watch on his wrist.
