At first sight one can understand that Speedmaster 5-Counters Chronograph by Omega is really a special watch model: for the first time in many years a chronograph has 5 counters at the dial… but this is not all! Five black counters are arranged at the bright black dial in shape of 5 Olympic rings. Located at the side of the 3 o’clock marker they include:
·Small second hand counter
·7-days’ chronograph memory device
·calendar
·12-hours’ chronograph memory device
·30-minutes’ chronograph memory device
A distinguishing component of the dial is mechanical shock resistant sapphire crystal of box-like shape featuring high-gloss covering at both sides. 5-Counters Chronograph is a masterpiece not only in visual respect. Exclusive movement of the calibre 3888 and the Omega co-axial release mechanism guarantee the extreme precision and reliability of the movement. The auto winding chronometers underwent the COSC certification, and feature 52-hours’ power reserve.
5-Counters Chronograph is available in 4 variants: made of 18-karat rose gold or yellow gold with a crocodile leather strap or steel bracelet. The case’s diameter is 44.25 mm; the gold model features the bezel of appropriate colors, models made of steel have a black aluminum ring at the stainless steel bezel. Olympic symbols together with Omega’s logo at the back case once again remind that 5-Counters Chronographs are part of the Olympic Timeless Collection, dedicated to the long-time partnership of Omega and the Olympic Games.
High precision chronographs from the Olympic Timeless Collection are dedicated to the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing. The watch reminds the chronographs having been used in 1932 in Los Angeles, when Omega for the first time was the official timekeeper of the Olympics.
