The models of watches demonstrated at the stands of the show of haute horlogerie in Geneva are different from timepieces that had been shown in Basel. Of course, here we also
can find the trendy combination of black color and rose gold, multilevel dials and motorbikes. But all these look absolutely different. On the whole the designers of the brands presented in Geneva prefer traditional design. But all the companies demonstrated interesting new models.
Jean Richard
This watch company have manufactured an entire line of interesting watches. The most original among them is 2Timezones. This is the first sporty model made on the basis of the company’s own calibre JR10000. Apart from the usual indication of the local time in the dial’s apertures the city and the time of the second time zone are shown. The city is chosen with the help of the winder at the left side of the case. Two bordering buttons allow to shift quickly the hour hand after the arrival to other country.

Piaget
As usual Piaget has prepared one novelty for the complicated mechanics connoisseurs and an entire line of models combining achievements of jewellery and watchmaking art. Piaget Emperador Coussin Perpetual Calendar is one of the thinnest watches in its line: the height of the automatic movement is only 5.6 mm. The movement is programmed to indicate the right date and day up to the year of 2100. A wonderfully worked up pillow-shaped case is very harmonic and fits the wrist like a glove.

The idea of the second watch by Piaget presented at the show was inspired by Paris’s architecture: the upper half of the opening case reminds the most famous construction of the capital of France – Eiffel Tower. Beneath it there is a perfectly smooth dial of the mechanic watch made on the basis of Calibre Piaget 830P. Its unique height (2.5 mm only) allowed to make this “duplex” watch very thin. The upper part of the watch is a miniature sand glass. But instead of sand this watch uses the smallest gold granules.

Audemars Piguet
This company has every right to be called an innovator in watchmaking: both in design and movements. It was one of the first who began to use such a popular today combination of black rubber and rose gold; and experimented with new materials and technology in movements manufacturing.
The model Royal Oak Carbon Concept Tourbillon and Chronograph continued the company’s innovation. This is a real alloy of new materials. The case and the platinum are made of carbon, the bridges – of an alloy on the basis of aluminum. The traditional case boarder is made of ceramics. Owing to all these the watch is unbelievably light.
Visible mechanism, linear minute counter and an unusual power reserve indicator complete the futuristic image of the novelty by Audemars Piguet.
