Jean-Claude Biver has become the first watchmaker to place its Hublot shop in the virtual world Second Life. It is not even a shop, but a real Hublot island which was paid real money for.
Jean-Claude even held a sort of press-conference on the topic in both Geneva and Second Life virtual space.
He calimed:
“Today the world of 3D technology replaces real life everywhere. More than 4 million people have already created their virtual avatars in Second Life, about 200 000 of them even posses some virtual property, it means they spend money there. Second Life is a perfect ground to show new watch models to the audience.”
