The Swiss watchmaking company Raymond Weil has sued the famous actress Charlize Theron. 31 year-old Hollywood star who is a face of Raymond Weil’s advertising campaign, is accused of breach of contract.

According to the writ, under contract to the watch firm, “for a great fee“, Charlize Theron had to wear only this watch brand from October 2005 till December 2006. However the actress made an advertising contract with the company Christian Dior, and in March 2006 she appeared at a press conference of the Festival in Austin (Texas) wearing a Christian Dior watch.

Moreover, the Swiss watchmakers state, that by the terms of the contract Charlize Theron was not allowed to appear in advertising of any jewelry ware, even if it was charity. However, from February till December 2006 the photo of Charlize wearing a necklace was used in an advertising campaign benefiting an AIDS.

It is unknown how much Raymond Weil will seek in damages, but according to its attorney, the company spent 20 million dollars on the advertising campaign with Charlize Theron.

 

 

Charlize Theron became famous for her roles in such films as “Astronaut’s Wife“, “North Country“, “Mighty Joe Young“. In 2004 she won her Oscar for the film “Monster“.

To produce Opus 6 Harry Winston has decided to collaborate with Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey.

Opus 6 has a double tourbillon designed by Greubel and Forcey: inside the large four minute case, that measures 15 mm, there is a small one minute case, inclined at 30° from the horizontal, the balance and the mainspring do 21600 semivibrations/hour. The system of the two cases consists of 128 elements and weighs 1,17 grammes. Thanks to its positional design the balance is almost impossible to place in the horizontal plane, the watch is comfortable to wear, the whole system can be perfectly seen and what’s more important the accuracy has essentially increased.

Time, that seems to recede into the background in this timepiece, can be read by two discs - 2 hour position is hours, a bit lower is minutes and 11 hour position is seconds.

Oris company produced the timepiece dedicated to the famous jazz player Dizzy Gillespie. The trumpet-player Dizzy Gillespie was one of the most popular musicians in his time. He is considered to be the founder of such music genres as bebop and modern jazz.

This edition called “Dizzy Gillespie Limited edition” is dedicated to this very musician. It is done in a run of 1917 pieces (it was 1917 when the musician was born).
