 Svend Andersen is one of the founders of the famous Academie Horlogere des createurs independents. This watchmaker is considered to be one of world’s most talented masters and inventors.
Svend Andersen revolutionized the world of watchmaking in 1969 with the presentation of his unusual “bottle clocks”. For ten following years he worked at Patek Philippe but in 1979 he became an independent watchmaker. Svend Andersen watches always make a sensation: they are not only technically complicated and innovative but also boast original design. Two constant lines of Svend Andersen watches are timepieces with perpetual calendars and erotic timepieces.
Among the latest creations of the master there is a Homage to Andersen from Andersen collection of timepieces dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the famous author of fairy tales. The collection consists of watches with engraved portraits of the writer and miniatures from his fairy tales “The Nightingale”, "The Emperor's New Clothes" and “The Tinderbox”.
Among the first watches created by the watchmaker were Communication and Communication 24 – the world’s smallest timepieces notable for perpetual calendar, Perpetual 2000 and Mundus. In 1997 Svend Andersen creates a series of Eros watches with animated erotic mages. At first sight these timepieces looked like a classical mechanical watches housed by 18Рљ gold cases. But the main secret was hidden under the sapphire back case – miniature moving images which are animated with the help of a button.
