Gevril watchmaking company comprises high standards of the past, modern possibilities and prevision of the future. The watches by Gevril are well-known and highly reputable all over the world for their irreproachable quality.
Gevril was founded more than 250 years ago by Jacques Gevril, a famous watchmaker of the time when the history of watchmaking began to be fixed on paper. Gevril started his carrer as a watch restorer in the mid 1700s. In 1774 he changed the approach to the world watchmaking creating a watch with a repeater.
While the roots of this brand can be traced to the mid-18th century, it was in 2001 that a determined young entrepreneur breathed fresh life and excitement into Gevril. With family ties to the watchmaking business, Samuel Friedmann was eager to break out on his own and build a brand of mechanical watches that would rival the finest in history and leave its mark for generations to come.
Today Gevril is one of the most reputable Swiss watch companies famous for its high standards. Only 6,000 Gevril watches are created annually in order to maintain exceptional quality throughout the brand. The watches that are crafted in steel are limited to 500 pieces of each model, while those made of 18-karat gold are produced in editions of 100 pieces of each model. Gevril uses only natural mother-of-pearl dials when that is the dial venue of choice, and when choosing diamonds, only Top Wesseltons will do. The crocodile straps on Gevril’s watches are cut expertly from the same Louisiana crocodile skin to offer uniform graining.
