 Watchmaking in Sweden has a long history with rich traditions to be proud of. In the mid nineteenth century the Swedish Viktor Kullberg became one of the most respected and awarded watchmakers in the world. His success and old traditions of Swedish watchmaking inspired Christer Sjöö and Mikael Sandström to found in 1986 their own watchmaking brand to continue the glorious history of Swedish watchmaking. Two engineers with a genuine passion for watches, they set the goal to make high quality watches that could be recognizable worldwide.
Sjoo Sandstrom is today one of the few independent watchmakers in the world.
Sjoo Sandstrom created the first modern Swedish watch line in 1993 and now offers a full line of fine primarily automatic or manually wound timepieces.
All watches by Sjoo Sandstrom are notable for elegant and even a bit austere design. Each new line of watches has its own image. One of the basic principles of the brand is that watches should be simple, functional and readable.
All Sjoo Sandstorm watches are assembled manually in a small manufactory in Stockholm. Each series of watches is produces in limited editions and consequently all timepieces have individual numbers. From 2002 the company provides life-long warranty for all its timepieces.
The Sjoo Sandstrom watches several times acquired prestigious awards in the sphere of watchmaking. In 1998 the Chronolink Worldtimer UTC watch was acknowledged a real masterpiece of horology and new the watch is exhibited in the Musee International D’Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland. The quality and design of Sjoo Sandstrom watches is highly appreciated by the members of Swedish Royal family.
