George Graham was born in 1674 in the small village of Cumbreland, England. He became an apprentice watchmaker in 1688. Seven years later he was admitted to the Company of Clockmakers and trained under other masters of his time. Though he died penniless, during his life Graham's research and innovative creativity would come to impact the watch world forever.
In 1715 Graham invented the anchor escapement. Other inventions for which he is credited include the deadbeat escapement, the mercury compensation pendulum, the minute repeater with damper, and the chronograph. The Graham brand is Swiss but carries on old English watchmaking traditions with its limited annual production of exceptionally well defined chronographs.
Today Graham watches are made in Switzerland, but are still heavily inspired by old English watchmaking. Specializing in chronographs, Graham makes quality watches in limited production. The firm also sponsors aspiring English students in Switzerland.
Graham watches come with a varied warranty depending on the vendor. Some vendors guarantee Graham watches for two years.
